@Howard, thanks for the comment. I didn't know about the Stanford Center ... I have added it to my list. Yunus' book is also on my reading list ... haven't gotten to it yet.

Hi Mark,

I'm enjoying reading your blog and have actually forwarded the link to several people.

Regarding your statement "…maybe the most successful “company” model is a hybrid between a for-profit and nonprofit," there are a few resources related to "Social Enterprise" that I thought you may want to take a look at.

Last Spring I read Mohammad Yunus new book "Creating a World Without Poverty" that discusses the phenomenon and his work with Danone Foods (Dannon, in the U.S.) in France. In addition, if you haven't already heard of it, Stanford has a Center for Social Innovation with a website and magazine called the "Standford Social Innovation Review," http://www.ssireview.org/. With support from Reuters, they also have a Digital Vision Program, rdvp.org/ , which "..provides social entrepreneurs with a creative environment and platform to design and implement innovative and scalable technology-based solutions for untapped markets around the world."

If you haven't heard of these I thought you might be interested.

Hope all is well,
