The Ipad does not come close to the reading experience of a kindle. You cant read the ipad outside, you cant take it for a week and not charge it, its heavier and it costs 3 times as much. Kindles are wonderful, they're retro (like reading). I'll keep mine for daily use, even though I may eventually buy an ipad 2 or 3 generations hence.
