Mark Beckford is a global technology executive with a passion for building high-growth businesses in developing countries using the principles of “creative capitalism”  to generate both profits and progress for untapped markets and underserved populations.

In 11 years at Intel, Mark led diverse global teams to extend Intel’s traditional market leadership and promote growth in new and emerging markets. He delivered millions of dollars in revenue by architecting and driving innovative initiatives, such as Intel’s renowned “World Ahead” program, a new P&L business group in China, and expansion of Intel’s business into new channels and emerging markets.

His extensive global experience includes working/living in China, growing markets in 40 countries, presenting at global leadership gatherings (including the World Economic Forum, and the World Congress of IT) on the role technology can play in accelerating economic development, and serving as Intel’s expert spokesperson on channels and emerging markets.

Mark is curently Vice President of Global Business Development at NComputing, Inc.  He received his Masters of Business Administration in 1996 from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. He is a mentor and advisor to startups at Haas, the UC Davis Graduate School of Management and the Sacramento Regional Technical Alliance (SARTA).

This all sounds like a typical “beat your chest” bio, which it is, but Mark is really a normal guy that enjoys networking and building relationships with people with the same passion for leadership development, social networking, growing technology businesses abroad, and emerging markets. He’s hoping this blog is a forum to do just that.
